Background

Kate Beckwith is a fully qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and Member of the BACP with experience of working with a range of children and young people.

 

As an Arts Education specialist, Kate taught in mainstream schools, colleges, universities, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), Youth Offending Teams (YOTs), and specialist groups including groups with Asperger’s Syndrome, drug & substance misuse groups, bereaved & trauma groups.

 

Kate’s network is extensive and includes primary and secondary schools, colleges, universities, counsellors & therapists, academics, professors, educational psychologists, educational specialists, play therapists, GPs, Occupational Therapists (OTs), and Local Authorities.

 

Kate works in educational settings and at her private practice, offering one-to-one counselling, group counselling, consultation, and CPD.


 Qualifications & experience

  • Fully qualified (with Distinction) Masters of the Arts (MA) in Psychodynamic Counselling

  • Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy [MBACP(Accred)] and adheres to their ethical framework

  • Specialises in working with Children & Adolescents, and in parent work & Parent-Infant work

  • Level 1 Infant Mental Health Training

  • Infant Observation

  • Fine Art Graduate Degree (First Class Ba Hons)

  • Practising Artist

  • Former Manager of the Arts Education Team at the University of Essex

  • Forest Schools trained with an Education Certificate of Excellence

  • Trained coach

  • Member of the Equine Assisted & Facilitated Practitioner’s Network and adheres to their code of conduct and ethics.

  • Experienced handling all our animals on site

  • DBS certified

  • Complies with GDPR

  • Full professional Indemnity Insurance
